St. Joseph’s Young Adult Community is a Centre for young adult ministry which has been established by the Diocese of Elphin, with a view to supporting the faith of young adults living in and around Sligo. The focus of the Centre is to be a place of hospitality, prayer and faith-formation for young adults (aged 18-30). St. Joseph’s is situated at Temple Street, opposite the Cathedral and in the same grounds as the St. Mary’s Diocesan Centre.
One element of St. Joseph’s is the opportunity for a small number of young adults (18-30) to live in St. Joseph’s, constituting an intentional faith community, while going about their regular work or study in Sligo. The members of St. Joseph’s Community would be expected to play a part in welcoming other young adults who come to participate in out-reach programmes.
